For our example, we are going to use Jacks or Better because it's perhaps the most commonly played
Video Poker game.
You are dealt five cards with which you must make the best poker hand possible, you have one chance to discard cards and draw new cards to better your hand.
Once you've made your choice of cards to get rid of, your final hand will be displayed on the screen. If your hand is a winning hand, you'll automatically
be credited with your win. The object of any online Video Poker game is to make the
best possible hand out of the cards you are dealt.
To play a perfect game is the goal, and perfectly played hands will increase your odds of winning the highest payouts.
The ultimate hand in Jacks or Better is the Royal Flush, which by odds will be seen about every 40,000 hands.
This may sound like you'll have to play a lot of Jacks or Better in order to get the Royal Flush, but in reality, you never know when it's coming.
When you
play Video Poker your first few hands could just as easily produce a Royal Flush.
The hand ranking in Jacks or Better Online Video Poker is outlined below.
Royal Flush - Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and 10 of the same suit. This is the highest hand possible in Jacks or Better.
Straight Flush – This is five consecutive cards of the same suit. For example, 4,5,6,7,and 8 of Hearts is a Straight Flush.
Four of a Kind – Four cards of the same value such as four 9's.
Full House - Three of a kind plus a pair such as Three 4's and Two 8's.
Flush – Five cards of the same suit.
Straight – Five cards in sequence such as 7, 8, 9, 10 and Jack, but not of the same suit.
Three of a Kind - Three cards of the same value such as three Kings.
Two Pair – Two sets of cards containing Pairs such as a Pair of Aces and a pair of 3's.
Pair of Jacks or Better – Two Jacks, Queens, Kings or Aces. |
